Abacus Elements 1200mm x 600mm 10mm Thick Tile Backer Board

For cladding wall and floors, this 10mm thick Abacus 1200mm x 600mm Tile Backer Board Panel helps to prepare walls and floors for tiled installation.

Manufactured from a combination of XPS Foam, a polystyrene foam, and coated in a concrete polymer coating with a high compressive strength of over 25 tonnes, these lightweight backing boards provide a waterproof and insulating surface for bathrooms, and especially wetrooms and walk in showers, and with key benefits that are advantageous compared to plasterboad and Marine Ply.

Capable of tile adhesion up to 62kg per square meter, these are glued to a wall using adhesive and then secured in place with screwed backing board washers (see required products for items to use with these). They can be cut to a required size using a handsaw, and with insulating benefits help to reduce condensation and mould growth, as well as helping to conserve energy in a space. This makes it environmentally beneficial by using less energy to heat a space and keeping it warm for longer.

Once installed, they can be either plastered over or fitted with a choice of bathroom wall tiles to provide the final decorative touch.
